Unbalanced Labyrinth Regulating Valve
The unbalanced labyrinth regulating valve combines a labyrinth cage with an unbalanced trim design. The labyrinth sleeve is composed of multiple coaxial cylindrical discs with labyrinth paths on their surfaces.
Based on the medium’s process parameters, different labyrinth path specifications are designed and stacked in multiple layers to form the cage. The cage divides the total flow path into numerous small, tortuous, or step-distributed throttling passages, forcing the fluid to constantly change direction and flow area, gradually reducing the fluid pressure. This prevents the occurrence of flashing and cavitation, extending the service life of the trim.
This type of trim is suitable for various applications prone to erosive flow causing cavitation. The unbalanced trim design is suitable for smaller diameters and high-temperature applications.
