Kaike Valve’s First Domestic 64″ 300LB -196°C Cryogenic Gate Valve Implemented, Setting a New Record for Large-Diameter Cryogenic Valves in China
Shanghai Kaike Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd. recently announced that China’s first 64-inch, 300LB, -196°C cryogenic gate valve has been successfully implemented. The launch of this valve marks a key breakthrough in China’s manufacturing capability for large-diameter cryogenic valves, providing a reliable domestic alternative for large petrochemical, natural gas and air separation plants.
Kaike Valve has deep technical expertise in the cryogenic valve field. As early as 2001, through cooperation with Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical, Kaike achieved domestic substitution of -196°C cryogenic hard-sealed gate valves, which were supplied to a 700,000 t/y ethylene revamping project. Since then, the company has continued to advance cryogenic technology. Its cryogenic hard-sealed gate valves received a “National Torch Plan Project” certificate from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the company participated in drafting the national standard GB/T 24925-2019 Low-Temperature Valves — Technical Specifications. Kaike’s current product range covers sizes from 1/2″ to 120″ and temperatures from -196°C to +750°C, making it one of the few domestic manufacturers capable of mass-producing extra-large-diameter cryogenic valves.
The implementation of the 64″ 300LB cryogenic gate valve further validates Kaike’s manufacturing processes and quality control capabilities under extreme operating conditions. In a -196°C cryogenic environment, large-diameter valve bodies face severe shrinkage stress and sealing challenges. The successful application of this product means that domestic valves no longer fully rely on imports in the intersection of cryogenic, large-diameter and high-pressure-class applications. Kaike stated that the company will continue to leverage its CNAS-accredited testing center and municipal enterprise technology center platform to consolidate its leading position in the ultra-high and low-temperature gate valve segment of the petrochemical industry
